ITAS Podcast Season 4, Ep.7
The conversation I had with Michelle Lubin, a.k.a. MD Ferrera, is the one that will inspire you and restore your faith in yourself as an artist. Like myself, Michelle is a huge mental wellness advocate. She’s raw and emotional, and incredibly self-aware. We talked about vulnerability, journaling, being true to yourself, childhood experiences, and raising children…
But no more spoilers! Listen for yourself in this episode of our art podcast!
About MD Ferrera
Michelle Lubin (MDFerrera) is a San Diego-based figurative artist, mural painter, and illustrator. With a Fine Arts Degree from NJ, she moved to Southern California 10 years ago to pursue an art career.
Local galleries like Thumbprint Gallery (La Jolla) and RAW Natural Born Artists provided early sales, connections, and exhibition experience.
Most recently she has been the recipient of the 2020 Business of Art Scholarship awarding her mentorship and a booth at the 2021 ArtWalk Little Italy. Another first for the artist in 2021 was illustrating a full children’s book now available on Amazon.
Her most recent figurative series, Just Breathe, has been recognized locally with a solo exhibition in early 2021, nationally exhibited with Juniper Rag (MA), and published internationally with Artist Talk.
Through the pandemic, MDFerrera has continued to create for local charitable organizations like Imperial Beach Arts Bureau, RecUniversal, and ArtReachSD, painting murals and various surfaces for auction.
