About Wendy Colt Kleine

Wendy Colt Kleine was born in Encino, California, and lived in Southern California until she was seven years old then moved with her family to Chicago, Illinois.  While she had been influenced by her mother’s love of art as a small child, she was also inspired by her many trips to Chicago Art Institute.

In 1972 she and her family moved to the small mountain town of Lake Arrowhead, California, where she attended the Art program at Rim of The World High School. Here she fell in love with the beauty of Nature.  Wendy moved to San Diego, California to attend Grossmont College and earned an AA degree in Art with an emphasis on ceramics. She was a Teacher’s Aide at a local High School for 9 years then opened a Custom Do-It-Yourself picture frame and gallery in Hillcrest, California for 10 years. Later she stayed home with her daughter and began working from home creating Jewelry and Interior Design. For the past 15 years, she has been teaching acrylic and watercolor to children and adults. In 2015 Wendy began focusing on her own work using acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. She divides her time between San Diego and Lake Arrowhead where she is continually inspired by the beauty of Nature. You can find Wendy’s work in home décor catalogs, her FaceBook page, and Instagram. She is licensing her artwork with Leftbank Art. Her work has been featured on HGTV’s Smart Home 2020 and other HGTV shows.
